We are pleased to share that The Lever Room has independently verified Purpose Capital’s alignment with the Operating Principles of Impact Management (Impact Principles).
The Impact Principles provide a best practice framework for integrating impact considerations throughout the life of an investment, overseen by the Global Impact Investment Network, the leading industry body for Impact Investing globally. Signatories are required to produce an annual disclosure statement, followed by regular independent verification.
The Lever Room is a leading New Zealand based advisory and specialist in impact measurement and management (IMM). Their expert team leverages data and science to provide audit level reporting. It has been a pleasure to work with them.
Rather than a simple “yes” or “no”, the Lever Room team provided an alignment rating against each principle.
This is our first independent verification, and we are sharing the full report in the interests of transparency. While we didn’t get a perfect alignment rating, it is very useful to get validation of our strong points, and we look forward to using the results to inform future improvements.

“It’s fantastic to see Purpose Capital commit to this recognised global standard. We’re proud to have provided New Zealand’s first verification against this best practice framework.
It’s our hope that this verification is supportive to the wider NZ impact investment ecosystem and provides inspiration for other investors and asset allocators to follow suit.’’
Rebecca Mills, Founder & Director, The Lever Room
Purpose Capital became New Zealand’s first signatory to the Impact Principles in 2023 as a natural step in our continued pursuit of best practice. We published our first disclosure statement outlining how our practices align with the Impact Principles in 2024. The disclosure statement is publicly available to view or download here.
“We feel a deep responsibility to insure we take a best practice approach to impact investing for the funds we manage and for the investment sector in New Zealand so that investors know if it’s an impact investment, it “does what it says on the tin”.”
Bill Murphy, Chief Executive, Purpose Capital
